SkinCeuticals Brand Evolution

Transforming SkinCeuticals for the Next Generation

Context

When I joined SkinCeuticals, the brand was entering a pivotal stage of growth. A new General Manager had just joined with a vision to evolve the brand for its next chapter.

Before 2022, SkinCeuticals was widely respected within the medical community and frequently recommended by dermatologists, but it was still perceived as a niche, clinical skincare brand. Following the pandemic, consumer demand accelerated rapidly. As the market expanded and copycat brands emerged, it became clear that the brand needed to move beyond its medical heritage and establish a stronger leadership position.

Challenge

How do you preserve the scientific credibility that built the brand while creating a more aspirational identity that resonates with a broader premium and luxury audience?

Before 2022. A traditional clinical aesthetic centered on functionality—clean, medical, and scientifically credible, yet somewhat static and lacking emotional engagement.

My Role

  • Conducted market research on luxury, beauty, and adjacent industries, with a focus on brand typography, digital experiences, and evolving visual trends.

  • Researched, evaluated, and onboarded CGI agency partners capable of elevating the brand's creative direction.

  • Led creative exploration by coordinating multiple concept rounds, gathering feedback, and refining visual directions in collaboration with senior creative leadership.

  • Synthesized research findings, creative explorations, and strategic recommendations into executive presentations for the VP, enabling alignment and final review with the General Manager.

  • Helped define a future-forward visual language that balanced scientific credibility with a premium, luxury brand experience.

Visualized product efficacy by connecting clinical study results with professional aesthetic procedures, creating storytelling that was both scientifically credible and emotionally engaging
